The lettername Tzaddi literally means "side". Paul Case says it means "fish hook". This refers to the similarity between fishing and meditation. An important qabalistic saying: "The fish goeth to the hood thinking to find a meal, but it is the fisherman who enjoys the meal." We feel like we are separate beings, striving for liberation. But this is only an illusion. We are, each of us, the One Self (the fisherman) who enjoys our waking process greatly.
